(she/her)

Executive Director

Staff, AIA Northern Virginia

Jaclyn S. Toole, Assoc. AIA joined AIA NoVA as Chapter’s Executive Director in November of 2021.  Trained as an architect, her 8+ years working in traditional practice coupled with her 13+ years’ experience in building industry association management have allowed her to gain a balanced industry perspective and be an effective catalyst for change in the built environment.

Prior to joining AIA NoVA, Jaclyn led the Sustainability & Green Building Department at the National Association of Home Builders for 11 years where she paved her own way to becoming a sustainability visionary with a unique and powerful portfolio that combines technical expertise, policy implementation and leadership skills with creative design, problem-solving and business savvy.

Jaclyn earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Philadelphia University (now known as Jefferson University) just outside of center city Philadelphia and a Sustainable Residential Design Certificate from Boston Architectural College (BAC). She is a HERS® Associate, Wellness Within Your Walls (WWYW) Certified Professional, and Certified Green Professional (CGP).  Originally from a small town in southeastern Pennsylvania, Jaclyn’s love for city life began in college yet still appreciates going home to visit.  Now, living in North Arlington with her husband, dog and two cats, she gets the best of both worlds.  When she’s not working with the members, she enjoys traveling, cooking, pretending to be a great amateur photographer, and volunteering with a local animal rescue.
