Canstruction® Northern Virginia

Canstruction Northern Virginia is an annual program to provide hunger relief for residents in our local communities. Each year, member architecture firms design and build structures made completely from canned goods with the intent that all food collected is donated to families facing food insecurity.

Assemble Your Team for the Next Build!

Local firms will gather to build their structures. Come out and vote for your favorite project in the People’s Choice Award. All sculpture materials will be donated to AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center) to support their mission of providing dignified access to nutritious supplemental groceries!

During our many years of participation, our teams have earned the top International Award for Jurors' Favorite TWICE, competing with over 1,200 structures from cities worldwide. MTFA Architecture took top prize in the 2015 competition and Samaha Associates won the award in 2010.
