Allied Professional

Open to career affiliated design & engineering professionals, suppliers and consultants.
When you join the Chapter as an Allied Professional member, you have the opportunity to connect with over 1,200 local architects, interns and other allied professionals in the design and construction industry, enabling you to gain a high level of visibility in the DMV. Develop contacts, exchange information and promote your products, services and technical expertise. Keep informed of the latest news within the local architecture community through our publications, website and emails, plus be highlighted in our Affiliate Directory. We encourage allied members to become involved with the Chapter by attending events and interacting with our committees and our members.

New Graduates & Students

Free for new architecture school grads for up to 18 months!

New Graduate membership is open to first-time AIA members who have recently graduated with a professional degree in architecture.

Unassigned Member

A primary member of another AIA Chapter would be welcomed as a non-voting, Unassigned member of AIA Northern Virginia. Unassigned Members enjoy all Chapter benefits of membership including access to publications, events, and participation in our Design Award program.  Pay Unassigned member dues online.
Join AIA NoVA

Emeritus Member

A member may apply for Emeritus status if they are able to satisfy three criteria. A member must*: 1. Be retired. 2. Have attained 70 years of age. 3. Have EITHER a: 25 successive/non-successive years of membership in the Institute OR b. 15 successive years directly prior to submission of the Emeritus application.

*In limited circumstances, eligibility waivers will be accepted by the Institute.
