Architecture Month
Architecture Month is celebrated by our chapter annually during the month of April. We host a variety of events and activities, each focused on community engagement, celebrating our local architecture and the role architects play as a force for positive change. We seek to educate the public on the practice of architecture, and engage people of all ages in learning about and experiencing the built environment.
Architecture Month Events
Our schedule of events and programs changes each year, but generally includes design & building activities for children & families, building tours, lectures, and exhibits in venues around Northern Virginia.
We release the schedule of events in March. Prior to that, check out last year's photos.
Partner Organizations
Many of our Architecture Month activities are hosted with local partner organizations which offer opportunities to link the practice of architecture with related areas of interest such as historic preservation, art & design, archeology, nature & ecology. We are always looking for groups in our area interested in partnering.
If your organization is interested in co-hosting an event, please contact us at: [email protected].
Volunteers
Activities for Architecture Month rely on volunteers who help organize, plan, and host specific events.
If you are interested in helping out, please contact us at: [email protected].
