Not only do you need to find a job, but you want to find the job that is right for you. Join us for a crash course in navigating the architectural job market. This insightful panel discussion will address topics such as resume-building skills, portfolio reviews, what to expect during interviews, and explore the day-to-day life as a young architect. Organized by the AIA NoVA Schools Connections Committee, this presentation is aimed at providing students and emerging professionals career-building skills to prepare them for life after graduation and how to stand out among jobseekers.

- Explore how to prepare and what to expect from the interview process, developing interview skills by learning the right questions to ask and identifying essential skills for success in the field.
- Gain insights into effective portfolio presentation, how to present your work at an interview, and recognize what draws people’s attention to ensure organizational excellence.
- Discuss how to pull together a resume and what information to highlight to catch employers’ attention.
- Explain how the alignment of personal values with a prospective employer can dovetail into your job search and why cultural fit is important.
