Discover the ins and outs of reciprocity and multi-jurisdiction licensure while exploring alternative pathways for those with international credentials or non-NAAB degrees.ā€Æ Gain insight into the variations in licensure requirements across different states and countries, including continuing education, reciprocity agreements, and specialized certifications. ā€ÆLearn proven strategies for balancing work, study, and exam preparation while discussingā€Æcommon challenges faced during the licensure process and addressing myths surrounding the complexity of licensure.ā€Æ ā€ÆExplore how internships and mentorship contribute to the licensure process, including the role of experienced architects in guiding emerging professionals and meeting required experience hours and how firms can foster success through mentorship, financial support, and workplace initiatives. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the steps to architectural licensure, including education, experience, examination requirements, reciprocity between jurisdictions, and post licensure education requirements. 
  • Demonstrate how to set up and manage an NCARB Record, track AXP hours effectively, and utilize available resources for completing licensure requirements. 
  • Identify pathways for individuals with international licenses, non-NAAB accredited degrees, or other non-traditional backgrounds to achieve licensure. 
  • Apply best practices for balancing work, study, and exam preparation while understanding how firms can support emerging professionals through mentorship and workplace initiatives. 

The program will entail a 1.5 hour panel discussion in the West Room followed by a networking reception for the remaining half hour.
