Jay Scruggs is a Principal at HGA Architects and Engineers and a respected leader in the architecture community. With a long-standing career at HGA, Jay previously served as Office Director for the firm’s Virginia and Washington, DC locations and now contributes to the company’s strategic direction as a member of its Board of Directors.

An active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 2009, Jay has demonstrated consistent dedication to advancing the profession through service and leadership. He is a past Board Member of both AIA Northern Virginia and AIA Virginia, and has volunteered extensively across numerous AIA task forces and subcommittees. As previous Co-Chair of the AIA Northern Virginia Community Service Committee for many years, where he continues to serve, Jay has helped to organize the AIA NoVA Canstruction event each year that raises money and provides food for local charities for families in need.
