Managing Director | Principal, FGM Architects
Christopher is a Managing Director and Principal with FGM Architects in Reston. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Virginia Tech in 1997, where his studies included a semester abroad at the European Studies Center in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland. Christopher has worked on a variety of project types throughout his career, bringing a passion for modern design and striving to find opportunities to elevate the human experience through the art of architecture. Christopher recognizes the important role that the AIA can play in our profession, and he has been involved in a variety of Chapter programs and committees including the Young Architects Forum, 360 Mentoring, Schools Connections, Communications, Legislative/Government Affairs, Architecture Week, the Chapter Golf Tournament, and the Pecha Kucha series. Christopher served on the AIA Northern Virginia Board of Directors from 2011 to 2015, and then served as 2nd Vice President from 2016 to 2018. In 2011, Christopher was selected to participate in AIA Virginia’s Emerging Leaders in Architecture (ELA) Honors Academy, and after graduating from the program, he served on the ELA Steering Committee and on the local NoVa ELA Organizing Committee. In 2018, he was elected to a 3-year term on the ELA Executive Committee, serving as the program chair in 2019. In 2020, Christopher was elected to serve on the AIA Virginia Board of Directors where he continued his focus on professional growth and mentoring by serving on the Education Advisory Council. In 2021, Christopher was elected to serve on the AIA Northern Virginia Executive Committee serving as the Secretary for 2022, the Treasure for 2023 and he looks forward to continuing his service to the Chapter as President-Elect in 2024.
