Each year, the Co-Chairs of the Design Awards Committee travel to a different region of the country, partnering with a local AIA component to assemble a jury of architects who bring fresh perspectives to the review process. By engaging professionals from outside our area, the Chapter ensures a thoughtful and impartial evaluation of its Design Awards submissions.
This year, the Design Awards jury convened in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the local office of Little Diversified Architectural Consulting on April 16–17, 2026. Over the course of two days, jurors reviewed 97 submissions across multiple award categories. Each day featured a distinct jury composed of architects with expertise relevant to the categories under consideration. Jurors evaluated entries, discussed their merits, and selected projects for recognition.
The architects who served on the two juries included:

Carol Bacon, AIA | ADW Architects
