Members of the Beyer Blinder Belle Architects (BBB) project team for 1250 Maryland Ave will lead a construction tour highlighting the adaptive reuse, modernization, and transformation of an existing eight-story office building into an eleven-story mixed-use multifamily residential development.

The tour will provide an inside look at several key aspects of the project, including:

• Removal and replacement of the existing exterior brick façade with precast concrete and window wall modules
• Integration of a new structural system to support the building addition
• Design of deep units as an emerging market typology
• Systems integration for the ground-floor and below-grade retail spaces
• Sustainability goals and strategies incorporated throughout the project

Attendees will gain insight into the design and construction considerations involved in transforming an existing commercial property into a contemporary mixed-use residential development.
