The Northern Virginia CRAN committee is one part of the tri-chapter Custom Residential Architects Network of the greater DC Metro area. Along with CRAN DC and CRAN Potomac Valley, CRAN NoVA plans events and networking opportunities for residential architects looking to learn and share with colleagues in the same field. Among the three chapters, each plans a quarterly event for all members to benefit from and attend, including house tours, continuing education programs and networking get-togethers. The events are also great opportunities to talk with other architects that are navigating the same challenges and trends of the residential design industry. In order to help facilitate those discussions, CRAN has a tri-chapter message board to ask questions and share information.
2024 has already seen some great events and there are more to come. The next event produced by CRAN NoVA will be a networking event in association with Home and Design Magazine at Konst Siematic in Bethesda, MD., on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 8. The event will offer attendees the opportunity to view the latest in residential kitchen design while networking with fellow architects, contractors and vendors. Please view the AIA NoVA website as the event gets closer to register.
For those interested in CRAN on a national scale, there is the Custom Residential Architects Network Fall Symposium in Seattle, WA, from Sept. 18-22, with registration beginning in July. This event will see representatives from CRAN groups across the country get together to discuss the latest in residential design and firm operations.
The Northern Virginia CRAN committee is always looking for new members and to speak with residential architects in the area. The committee meets monthly to review the latest topics and plan our quarterly events. If you are interested in joining CRAN or attending any of the aforementioned events, please let us know by completing this form or visit the AIA Northern Virginia CRAN webpage.
