The AIA Northern Virginia Committee on the Environment (COTE) was excited to showcase the HITT HQ building, an integral part of the mixed-use transit-oriented development at the West Falls Church Metro Station. With direct transit access, nearby multifamily housing, retail, and restaurants, the project will bring new energy and help reinvigorate the Falls Church community and local economy.

The tour highlighted key components of sustainable design, including net-zero energy performance through renewable and natural resources, rainwater harvesting, and advanced XPOE power systems. Thanks to the great timing, we were able to observe firsthand the installation of the HyperWall, a fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite panel that happens to be the first of its kind in the U.S.

Thank you to our sponsors ArupDewberryGenslerInterfaceOJB Landscape ArchitectureVision Technologies, and especially HITT Contracting—for helping organize and host the event.  Lastly, special thank you to the more than 40 members who attended the event, supporting AIA NoVA and the Committee on the Environment!
