On July 17, AIA NoVA’s Young Architects Forum (YAF) hosted its third annual Mentor Golf event at TopGolf National Harbor. This much-anticipated evening once again brought together emerging professionals and seasoned architects for a unique blend of networking, mentorship, and golf. Attendees from local architecture firms—Jacobs, KGD, MTFA, and FGM Architects—joined in the fun alongside prime sponsor, General Shale and supporting sponsors Stego, Barger Agency, and Allsteel.

Mentorship remains the soul of this event. Beyond the confines of a traditional office setting, golf provides a casual yet engaging environment where connections flourish. While emerging professionals gain insight and guidance, senior leaders, including principals, fellows, and mentors, are given the opportunity to share their expertise and help shape the future of the profession.
By emphasizing skill-building and intergenerational collaboration, the continued support of the Mentor Golf event reinforces AIA NoVA’s commitment to career development and leadership in architecture. Participants don’t just leave with improved golf swings, they leave with valuable insights, new relationships, and tools to succeed long-term.
Special thanks to AIA NoVA members and mentors Josh McKenrick, AIA, Braden Field, AIA, and Christopher Kehde, AIA—and to all who made this event a success including our sponsors:
