AIA Northern Virginia
The Desiree V. Cooper (DVC) Memorial Scholarship Deadline Extended
Posted Monday, December 30

The DVC Memorial Scholarships seek to honor the life and legacy of Desiree Cooper, a local architect and an AIA Northern Virginia Chapter member, by championing the things she was passionate about in her professional career and personal endeavors – providing continual service to her communities and encouraging minorities and women in the advancement of their careers in architecture.

The program offers scholarships to talented minority applicants who reside in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC and are seeking licensure in the field of architecture. These need-based scholarships will supplement expenses for the Architecture Registration Exam (ARE). Promising applicants will have a proven track record of commitment to the community, professional achievements, and significant contributions to the field of architecture.

Scholarships are awarded in the following categories:
-The Black Women in Architecture Award
-The Harrisburg Memorial Award (PA residents)
-The DC Memorial Award (DC/MD/VA residents)

The deadline to apply has been extended until January 20. Learn more.
