AIA members are encouraged to submit for programs including the COTE® Top Ten Awards, Education Facility Design Awards, AIA/ALA Library Building Awards, and the Justice Facilities Review.

AIA/ALA Library Building Awards – due January 14
Libraries are more than learning centers – they’re also enduring examples of architectural excellence. Every year, the AIA is proud to partner with the American Library Association/Library Leadership and Management Association to honor the best in library architecture and design.

COTE® Top Ten Awards – due January 15
The COTE® Top Ten Awards is the industry’s best-known award program for sustainable design excellence. Each year, ten innovative projects are recognized for their integration of design excellence with environmental performance.

Education Facility Design Awards – due January 16
Recognized projects represent state-of-the-art learning environments, including early childhood, K-12, alternative, community and technical colleges, schools of higher education, corporate or other specialized training centers and non-traditional learning environments such as community centers, museums, libraries, nature centers, and interpretive centers.

Justice Facilities Review – due February 18
The Justice Facilities Review (JFR) is published yearly and documents best practices in planning and design for justice architecture. The JFR offers examples of a broad range of design strategies and depicts the latest trends in the design and construction of buildings that directly support the justice system. These projects demonstrate quality of form, functionality, and current architectural responses to complex justice design issues.
