James M. Scott Exceptional Design Awards Accepting Entries

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, this awards program, (formerly the Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards) is sponsored by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and administered by the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning, in cooperation with the county’s Architectural Review Board and AIA Northern Virginia.

Nominations can be submitted in many categories:
• Residential
• Commercial
• Commercial Interiors
• Institutional
• Recreational
• Historical/Adaptive Re-use
• Adaptive Re-use/Repurposing
• Mixed Use
• Community Benefit Project

All entries should exemplify a superior work of architecture; incorporate total site design and landscaping; take into account the context of the work in relationship to its surroundings; or apply energy and water conservation and other green building practices.
