Opportunities to Pursue Business in China
Posted Friday, January 25

Architecture and design firms offering services to build themed attraction parks, urban leisure destinations, and other entertainment related components in China are sought by Chinese developers. Due to a growing middle class and increased discretionary income, Chinese consumers and 330 million annual visitors are estimated to generate $1.8 billion in admissions revenue by 2020. The U.S. Commercial Service is organizing a Roadshow to assist U.S. companies pursuing business opportunities in China’s themed entertainment industry.

The U.S. Commercial Service sponsored Roadshow to China, March 28-April 2, 2019, encompasses a series of trade events selected for their potential to connect U.S. architecture and design firms with lucrative business opportunities. The anchor event, China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA) Expo in Beijing provides an opportunity for U.S. companies to showcase their new technology to thousands of international visitors with a site visit to Tongzhou Universal Studio Theme Park (currently under construction). Separate stops include Hong Kong & Shenzhen focusing on family entertainment centers and urban leisure destinations, and an additional stop in Ningbo to meet with attraction park developers.

U.S. architecture and design companies may be interested to contract with some or more of the following Chinese theme park-oriented firms: Fangte Amusement with 24 theme parks across China, Haichang’s Discovery World with the largest marine parks along the new Sild Road, or Changzhou’s Dinosaur Land with planned developments for attractions and recreational businesses. The Roadshow leverages U.S. Commercial Diplomats and Specialists posted across China to recruit local representatives of these and other organizations for one-on-one business match-making sessions with U.S. companies. To register for this Roadshow or learn more about business opportunities in China, contact Cody Dietrich 703-235-0064 or cody.dietrich@trade.gov. Deadline to apply is February 28, 2019.
