6th Annual Women in Architecture Lecture Series Begins March 28

Organized by the AIA Northern Virginia Women in Architecture Committee, this year’s lecture series begins March 28, with an evening presentation at the National Building Museum, followed by the second presentation, part of our celebration of Virginia Architecture Week, on April 8 at the Torpedo Factory.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, design leaders Hilary Bertsch, AIA, Principal at Perkins Eastman Architects; Maria Casarella, AIA, Senior Associate, Cunningham | Quill Architects; and Emily Hotaling Eig, Founder and President of EHT Traceries, Inc. share their experiences working on three of DC’s most complex, large-scale projects – The Wharf, St. Elizabeth’s East Campus, and McMillan. Architecture, Design and Cultural Space – April 8

Cultural and public spaces are where social values can be expressed in real time. Three panelists, Ronit Eisenbach, an architect with StudioRED; Philippa Hughes, a social and creative placemaker; and Khara James, an architect at Perkins Eastman will share their experiences with the design of various cultural spaces.
