For over two decades, the three metro area chapters of the AIA, six local schools of architecture, the Washington Architectural Foundation and the National Building Museum have collaborated to organize the annual Interschool Design Competition.

Students enrolled in architecture programs at Catholic University, Howard University, Morgan State University, Virginia Tech’s Washington-Alexandria Architectural Center (WAAC), University of Maryland and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) will gather this coming Sunday, September 17, for a day-long design charrette at the National Building Museum. Visitors are welcome to view the charrette in progress from 11:00a to 5:00p.

The National Building Museum is located at 401 F Street, NW, DC 20001, on the Red Line, Judiciary Square Station.

The winning teams will be announced on Tuesday, September 19, followed by the Spotlight on Design lecture showcasing the work of SmithGroupJJR. Tickets are required for the lecture and can be obtained on the NBM website.
