Grimm + Parker is seeking a Senior Construction Administrator to join our team based out of our Tysons, VA Studio.  Our focus is community architecture, with a large porfolio in the education sector.  The Senior Construction Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the design intent of documents is adhered to in the field.  This important role will be the primary point of contact with Contractors and Clients on large scale community project(s) that are under construction in Northern Virginia.
 

Responsibilities will include:
Frequent travel and site visits to observe field progress.

Through knowledge and technical understanding of construction materials, building trades, means and methods and risk management to navigate field work at Northern VA construction sites.

Timely submittal reviews, and document interpretations (RFIs etc.).  Detailed and documented construction observations on site to verify requirements of the construction contract are being maintained.

Working knowledge of engineering design intent through documents from consulting disciplines.

Represent interests of Client, Firm and supporting consultants throughout the construction phase.

Attend and participate in progress meetings, take field notes, and support Project Architect in representing the firm and meeting schedules.
 

Requirements:
10+ years Construction Administration experience on medium/large commercial/institutional projects.

Professional Degree in Architecture.

Ability to travel to construction sites and walk construction sites in various phases of completion.

Advanced knowledge of construction contract administration procedures, construction documentation and materials, building codes and specifications.

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team.

Architecture license.
 

Additional preferred skills:
Proficiency in REVIT and experience with cloud-based CA software, such as Newforma and Procore.
