Entry Level Architectural Team Member (Recent Graduate)
Job Description
Does working within interdisciplinary teams excite you? Do you enjoy the company of engineers? We have a growing architecture studio within our E/A firm dedicated to providing design excellence with efficient and effective problem-solving design solutions.
Most of our projects are renovations, so it makes for some interesting and challenging projects. The fun of renovation work is dealing with the existing constraints imposed by the structure or building operations. We find ourselves regularly working with the engineers to solve problems – in the field and at our desks. We are such great problem solvers that our clients return and renew their multi year term contracts.
We serve our clients’ missions as if they were our own, whether supporting the warfighter or our nation’s finest government and educational institutions.
With our headquarters located in Northern Virginia, our interesting client list, and a focus on renovation, you will get to go into some interesting buildings, sometimes seeing history from the inside out. Check out our projects page for some examples of our work.
This position will report to the Senior Architect.

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR SUMMER CONSULTANTS
- Help solve our client’s problems.
- Support the development of the project’s goals through all phases of a project
- Produce drawing sets
- Have a strong understanding of constructability and technical know-how to complete drawing sets
- Review specifications
- Work collaboratively with the team – clients, consultants, colleagues, and manufacturers
- Meet project milestones and deadlines
- Build and foster relationships with existing and new clients
Qualifications
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WITH YOU
- 1 to 3 years of experience in design and construction administration of architectural elements and systems.
- Willingness to learn and observe.
- Ability to work collaboratively on project teams.
- Willingness to hear professional feedback and apply what is learned to future project tasks.
- On the path to obtaining an architecture license.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to conduct day-long field surveys outdoors and indoors in conditioned and unconditioned spaces, including walking up to 10-20k steps in a day, climbing up and down a 6-foot ladder, kneeling, squatting, and bending.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain site access at client locations.
- Ability to travel up to 10 nights in a year, in addition to day-long field surveys.
- Due to government contract requirements and mandated access restrictions, sole US citizenship is a strict requirement of this role. Dual citizenship is not acceptable.
