Tour an architecture firm located in a renovated warehouse and learn about their award winning Potomac Transportation Framework Plan.
Beginning with a semi-abandoned warehouse, the space was designed to accommodate an architecture firm and a photography studio. A one-story structure with 19-foot ceilings, a clear span of approximately 40 feet, and a footprint of 4,350 sq ft, the building was unusually sited on an alley and fire lane, and marketed by real estate brokers as a redevelopment opportunity. The firm took cues from the “good bones” of the building, and focused on energy efficiency and bringing in light. They maintained the existing clerestories and added windows along the alley and skylights on the opposite side to balance the light in the space.
As part of the tour, you will see impressive architectural models for projects worldwide and firm staff will talk about their Potomac Transportation Framework Plan that explores the addition of a reliable ferry network on the Potomac/Anacostia/Occoquan water corridors.
1 HSW LU. The tour is free and reservations are not necessary.
