CRAN: Sustainable + Historic – Intertwined Ideologies
November 28
12:00-1:00p

At the District Architecture Center, 421 7th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20004.

Preservation and sustainability are intertwined ideologies. Buildings consume more energy than any other sector in the United States and as more buildings become historic - and new sustainable technologies are invented to reduce the energy consumption of building operations - there will be a more expansive conversation on what's allowed on historic buildings.

Join the Capital Area CRAN Committee and Encore Sustainable Design, LLC to explore a high-level view of the two disciplines and receive tangible take-aways for improving energy efficiency in historic buildings. The session, presented by Nakita Reed, AIA, will also focus on historic homes and understanding practical ways to improve their energy efficiency without sacrificing character.

1 HSW LU. $10 for students & Assoc. AIA members, $15 for AIA & DAC members, $35 for non-members. Additional information and registration available HERE
