Home & Garden Tour 2016 – Benefiting the Love Quilt Project
April 3011:00a-4:00p
Tour begins at St. Peter’ s Episcopal Church, 4250 North Glebe Road, Arlington 22207.
This Home & Garden Tour showcases homes designed by local award-winning architects, including Randall Mars, AIA; Charles Moore, AIA; and David Ricks, AIA. Arlington Magazine voted the Arlington Home & Garden Tour as one of the ’Best of’ in 2015.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about unique structural details, sustainability techniques, site placement, landscape design and the history of each house. At each site, the architect will discuss their design approach, construction considerations and special features of the home.
This is a fundraising event benefiting The Love Quilt Project, which uses the power of love to change the lives of vulnerable and orphaned South African and American children, many of them affected by the AIDS pandemic.
The tour is open to both design professionals and the public. 3 AIA HSW continuing education credits are offered for architects. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance by contacting event chair, Gretchen Ginnerty, AIA, ASID at lovequiltproject@gmail.com or 703-244-8499. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.lovequiltproject.org and at St. Peter’s Church on the day of the tour.
