The Young Architects Forum has scheduled the 2016 Architect Registration Exam (ARE) Prep Courses. The series run through May and includes sessions on each section of the exam, as well as supplemental courses to provide information on topics that are sprinkled throughout the exams.

All ARE sessions offer continuing education credit and can be taken by members as review sessions.


Developed as part of a study series for the Architect Registration Examination, this session provides an overview of current ADA Standards and how the standards are applied in the design and construction of multiple building types. Applicable building codes related to ADA Standards will be reviewed and discussed.

• Participants will examine the current ADA Standards, adopted by the US Department of Justice, and how they differ from the previous standards.

• Participants will consider how to apply the ADA Standards in multiple building types.

• Participants will examine design elements and products that comply with the Standards, including proper signage, ramps, barriers, access areas and hardware.

• Participants will consider current building codes that relate to ADA Standards and various compliance strategies.

1.5 HSW LU. $25 for AIA members and $35 for non-members. The cost includes refreshments and study materials. Advance registration is required one week prior to class.
