Architecture Lab Inaugural Committee Meeting
July 21

At the Chapter House, 205 South Patrick Street, Alexandria 22314.

You are welcome to attend the inaugural meeting of the new Architecture Lab Committee (formerly known as our Architecture in the Schools Committee).

Architecture Lab provides programs for students attending elementary through high school in the Northern Virginia community. Volunteers work with students and teachers to promote analytical, critical thinking and creative skills through architectural design. The committee also works to foster communication with community schools and promote the architecture profession.

Chaired by Elma Hajric Willcoxon, Associate AIA and Gavin Myers, AIA, the committee will be planning activities for the fall, including Architecture in the Schools, weekend programs and career day presentations. The committee will also discuss future plans to reach out to local school boards and to develop additional programs such as Shadow an Architect opportunities, walking tours for children and a scholarship program.

If you are interested in volunteering or getting involved in any of the above programs, please come to our first committee planning meeting.

If you have any questions or cannot come to the meeting, please email Elma.
