AIA Northern Virginia
Canstruction® 2017
October 27 - November 5
at Ronald Reagan National Airport

During the last 13 years we have donated tens of thousands of cans to help our neighbors in need.

The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is counting on us and we are counting on you to help.

We will again be building at Reagan Washington National Airport, where over 480,000 people will view your creation. Build-out night is October 27 and our structures are on display until de-Canstruction on November 5. Building spots are limited, so register your team today.

Be creative, inspire teamwork, help your community and have fun!

Entering teams can be made up of architects with designers, engineers, contractors or students. At least one member of each team must be a member of AIA Northern Virginia. Firms are welcome to enter jointly. Student teams may participate, but must be mentored by an AIA architect member. We are happy to find an architect to work with your school.

Our creations are imaginative, entertaining, structurally intriguing and award-winning!

MTFA Architecture took top prize in the 2015-2016 International Canstruction Competition, selected as Jurors' Favorite from over 1,200 structures from cities worldwide.

This is the second time in the twelve-year history of the AIA Northern Virginia competition that one of our participants was awarded Jurors' Favorite in the International competition. Samaha Associates won the award in 2010 for ORANGE you glad you CAN help e-LEMON-ate hunger?

Is this your year to win? With Canstruction, you win whether you get a trophy or not because just by participating, you help to feed those in need. Please consider forming a team this year, within your firm or partnering with others. Just complete the team registration form here. You can pay the registration fee online below using the link to PayPal. A PayPal account is not needed to process payment, just any major credit card.

Organized by the American Institute of Architects Northern Virginia Chapter and the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC).
