Architecture Lab
I. Our Mission:Architecture Lab is committed:
- To provide educational support programs to elementary, middle and high school facilities within the Northern Virginia community.
- To teach children analytical, critical thinking and creative skills through architectural design; and
- To foster communication with the community schools and promote architecture profession.
1. Home Architecture Camp:
For students interested in a virtual home learning experience, there is a virtual camp you can attend at the comfort of your own home. Whether you are a parent, educator or student, Architecture Lab is here to help you get connected and experience what architecture camp has to offer at home. 2. After-school Architecture Club:
In participating schools, Arch Lab offers after-school Architecture Clubs for all Elementary, Middle, and High School Students who are interested in architecture and design. The Committee provides architecture-related activities to teach students analytical, critical thinking and creative skills through architecture.
3. Summer Studio Lab:
During the summer, Architecture Lab holds a 1-week intensive summer program for Elementary, Middle, or High School students interested in architecture. If you are a parent, teacher, student or volunteer interested in learning more about Studio Lab for the upcoming year, please contact us at archlabnova@gmail.com.
III. Experience Opportunities for High School Students:
Shadow an Architect: Throughout the school year and summer months, Middle and High School Students have the opportunity to be paired with local professionals for a day of job shadowing. Students interested in shadowing an architect are encouraged to reach out to the committee to get paired with a local professional.
