Purpose
The AIA Northern Virginia Chapter Design Awards Program was created to recognize and celebrate our members' achievements in the design of the built environment. The Design Awards Program honors and celebrates our members' commitment to design excellence in various practice groups. As the premier event of the Chapter, the awards program demonstrates to both clients and the public, the availability of local award-winning firms and individuals dedicated to providing outstanding architectural design and execution.
Eligibility
Any licensed AIA Architect member of the Northern Virginia Chapter may enter a project for which the entrant has had significant responsibility for design authorship of the project submitted. Associate AIA members of the Northern Virginia Chapter may enter a project in the Herlong Associates Award category, according to the requirements outlined for the award. All work submitted must have been completed after June 1, 2014. A project can be entered in only one category per year. Projects previously honored with an award in this program are not eligible for entry. Members are encouraged, however, to resubmit all eligible projects that have been previously entered but not yet awarded.
