To showcase architecture in Virginia and the work of our Chapter members, we organized a dozen tours for our visiting colleagues. This year, our Schools Connections Committee (SCC) partnered with local architecture schools to organize lectures, panels, scholarships, portfolio reviews, firm pin-ups, and the annual Interschool Design Competition at the National Building Museum. The committee also joined with our Women in Architecture Committee (WIA) and Young Architects Forum (YAF) to sponsor several mentoring events. To help serve our neighbors, the Chapter sponsors an annual Canstruction® competition, donating thousands of cans of food to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Also, WIA organized its second annual 'Dress for Success' clothing drive, returning this spring. Make a New Year's resolution to get more involved with the Chapter with these opportunities. The only reason we can do so much in a year is because of the efforts of all our volunteers. So THANK YOU to our board of directors, committee chairs, committee members, VSAIA directors, school volunteers, ARE instructors, convention tour guides, Canstruction teams and everyone who helped make this year so successful. Leadership Changes for 2013 The Chapter welcomes four new Directors to its Board of Directors for 2013, and is sending three new representatives to the Virginia Society Board of Directors.
