With Resilience as the theme, the 2017 Women in Architecture Lecture Series explores how architects, landscape architects, designers, planners and developers are responding to new vulnerabilities surfacing around the world.
Resilient Design and the Environment features a panel discussion on models of future conditions, methodologies for community engagement and built work designed within the framework of resilience.
Moderated by Tanya Mejia, Associate AIA, Perkins Eastman Sustainability Specialist. Jennifer Bolstad, Associate AIA, Principal with Local Office Landscape and Urban Design, and Annisia Cialone, Director of Planning for the City of Jersey City, discuss built work post-Sandy. Dr. Victoria Chanse, Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland, and Alexis Goggans, with DC’s Department of Energy & Environment, discuss solutions in community design and forecasting for sea level rise.
